Established in 2008, Peace Stables is a dream come true for owner Holly Yelton Peace. From the age of 2, the obsession with all things horses was obvious. After continuous begging for lessons, Holly started riding at the age of 7 in Fresno, California. She moved to Peachtree City, Georgia in 1992 and began riding and training with Stephanie Free. Under Stephanie's supervision and guidance, Holly earned many championships. The highlights of her junior career include: qualifying for the AHSA National Pony Medal Finals; GHJA Year-End Championships and Reserve Championships in Large Pony Hunter, Schooling Pony Hunter, Children's Hunter, Open Hunter, and Equitation divisions; and numerous GHJA Pony and J.D. Pounds qualifications.
Holly's large pony, Answered Prayer ("Sebastian"), was her partner for almost 4 years. She sold him in 1996, and he taught many other junior riders over the last 15 years. Sebastian recently retired and came back to Holly, and he now lives a happy retired life on the green pastures of Peace Stables. Her most accomplished show mount, a 15.3h chestnut gelding named "Skip N' Free" helped Holly reach every goal in her riding career. She leased him during her college years, and finally resigned to selling him in 2002. She hopes he, too, comes back to her in retirement one day!
Holly is married to Dana Peace, who owns a carpentry business. They have a 5 year old daughter, Alexis, who enjoys riding her pony, Pickles. Holly graduated from McIntosh High School, the University of Alabama (roll tide!), and Georgia State College of Law. She works full-time at a criminal defense law firm in Peachtree City. She is the past president of the Southern Hunter Jumper of Georgia - a local horse show organization (http://www.shjgonline.com/). She is a Jesus follower, and an active member of Heritage Christian Church, where she and Dana teach elementary Sunday school kids.
Her parents, Wayne & Linda Yelton (who made the path for her to obtain her dreams) also live on the farm. Wayne is the owner of Wayne's Painting and Linda is the Director of Heritage Christian Academy.
Kelly (Sumner) White has been riding for over 20 years, and has knowledge in all things equine. She began riding lessons when she was eight years old under trainer Tracy Nininger at Jump on Over Farm. She continued riding and showing under Tracy for about 10 years –in divisions from beginners all the way through junior jumpers and mini prixs. Kelly, from an early age, has always been brave and ready to ride any horse or pony. That attribute quickly made her the catch rider for all the naughty horses and ponies in the barn. She would ride and show the ‘problem’ horses, and help fix their issues under Tracy’s guidance. She basically lived at the barn, and was always around for every vet and farrier appointment – paying close attention to all that happened. This gave her a wealth of knowledge in managing and riding horses.
Kelly knows exactly what type of training techniques to use on the sale horses when they come in, and has had great results getting the best out of sale horses quickly – so that they can be easily matched with prospective buyers and find good homes. Kelly is not only great with horses – she also has a gift with taking pictures and making videos of horses. She produces fantastic pictures and videos of our sale horses to portray their best qualities in the advertising materials. Kelly married her husband Josh, a firefighter, after college. They have two adorable kids - Heidi and Tucker.
